IPA “Gender Perspectives” Statement: Stop violence against Belarusians!

The International Public Association “Gender Perspectives” is celebrating this week two very important anniversaries in our history - 10 years since our organization was founded and 8 years of the national domestic violence hotline operation. We would like to thank everyone who has been supporting us for the past 10 years and contributed to violence-free life in Belarus.

Stop violence against Belarusians! Most importantly, men and women who trusted us with their life stories. Helping others is the best school in humanity and professionalism. We have also many honest and decent colleagues among state stakeholders, trusted partners from the international organizations, and most certainly, beloved friends and soulmates in the civil society and NGO sector. Thank you for all these years together!

And yet, considering the current situation in Belarus, we can not celebrate our achievements as if nothing was happening. This whole week we have been following with hope, pain and fear the events in our own country, with our own dear people.

Peaceful people, men, women, children should not be abused! There can be no excuse for use of force!

Stop violence against Belarusians!
